The 233-ALLÔ began as a telephone information line in 1989, a rotary phone “Google” if you will! It has since evolved into a complete information centre, providing detailed information on who to call for a particular French service or how to contact specific government services for those interested in living in French. The 233-ALLÔ also partners with French organisations to sell tickets and advertise their event in its Community Events Calendar which can be found on our website and in several community papers. Although we have a live bilingual person answering calls, the public can also email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out what events are on and to obtain general information about the French community.
For French or Immersion teachers looking for an interactive presentation, the 233-ALLÔ will visit your school and introduce the many ways one can live in French outside of school taking part in activities held in French throughout Manitoba.
You can also check our Community events calendar, the 233-ALLÔ calendrier communautaire, to get a snapshot of various activities in French taking place in Manitoba.
The Annuaire des services en français au Manitoba is a directory of services offered in French throughout Manitoba. Looking for a book store that carries French books or a bakery in St-Pierre that will bake a traditional Tourtière (meat pie)? Look no further than the Annuaire. Available in electronic format and in print.
The 233-ALLÔ... your gateway to the francophone community!
